Isiolo side Odha FC, coach face year-long FKF suspension after playoff chaos

In line with FKF regulations, the Committee ruled that Odha FC be eliminated from the playoffs and barred from participating in any FKF-sanctioned competitions for a year.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has handed Isiolo-based side Odha FC a one-year ban from all league and tournament activities following violent incidents during their match against Beirut FC last month.

The controversial match, played on November 30, was abandoned after Odha FC supporters engaged in acts of hooliganism, prompting the matter to be referred to the FKF Isiolo Disciplinary Committee.

A special sitting was held on December 9, to examine the events and found that Odha FC failed to control its fans, who caused significant damage by breaking chairs, corner flags and a tent stand.

The club was also found culpable for crowd violence and unsporting behaviour that disrupted the match.

In line with FKF regulations, the Committee ruled that Odha FC be eliminated from the playoffs and barred from participating in any FKF-sanctioned competitions for a year.

"Odha FC is eliminated from the playoff and excluded from any league tournament run by FKF for a period of 1 year," the Committee ruled.

The Committee also addressed the conduct of Odha FC coach Ahmed Abdirahma, who was previously suspended after receiving a red card during the semifinals against Green Eagles.

The Committee ruled Ahmed violated FKF regulations by entering the pitch during the finals.

"Coach Ahmed was under official suspension, which prohibited him from accessing the pitch or taking part in any match-related activities," said FKF.

"Despite this standing suspension, he entered the field during the finals, an act that directly violates FKF regulations and compromises both match integrity and the authority of officials."

According to FKF, Ahmed's actions amount to a serious breach of football discipline and cannot be tolerated.

"The Committee hereby imposes a 365-day ban on Ahmed from participating in any football-related activities within Isiolo County, effective immediately," said FKF.

"This ban includes but is not limited to coaching duties, officiating, team bench access, entering the technical area, or involvement in any organised FKF activities under the Isiolo Branch."

Additionally, the Committee fined Green Eagles FC Sh8,000 for failing to honour a scheduled play-off match organised by the FKF in Isiolo.

"The fine is payable to the FKF Isiolo County branch office on or before the start of the next season. Kindly ensure compliance to avoid further disciplinary action."
